Deception Against Allah – Surah Al-Baqarah 2:9 Meaning

Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala says in the Holy Qur’an:

يُخٰدِعُوْنَ اللّٰهَ وَا لَّذِيْنَ اٰمَنُوْا  ۚ وَمَا يَخْدَعُوْنَ اِلَّاۤ اَنْفُسَهُمْ وَمَا يَشْعُرُوْنَ

(QS. Al-Baqarah 2: Verse 9)

“They try to deceive Allah and those who believe, but they deceive none except themselves, yet they do not realize.”

This verse from Surah Al-Baqarah warns us about the hypocrites who pretend to believe in Allah but secretly oppose faith. They think they can deceive Allah and the believers, but in reality, they are only harming their own souls.

🔹 No one can deceive Allah, for He knows what is hidden in every heart.

🔹 Hypocrisy leads only to destruction.

🔹 True faith must be built upon sincerity, honesty, and complete submission to Allah.

This verse reminds us to always remain truthful in our Iman (faith) and never fall into hypocrisy.
