Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala says in the Holy Qur’an:

Arabic:

الَّذِيْنَ يَنْقُضُوْنَ عَهْدَ اللّٰهِ مِنْۢ بَعْدِ مِيْثَا قِهٖ ۖ وَيَقْطَعُوْنَ مَاۤ اَمَرَ اللّٰهُ بِهٖۤ اَنْ يُّوْصَلَ وَيُفْسِدُوْنَ فِى الْاَ رْضِ ۗ اُولٰٓئِكَ هُمُ الْخٰسِرُوْنَ

Translation:

"Those who break Allah’s covenant after contracting it, and sever what Allah has ordered to be joined, and cause corruption on earth – it is they who are the losers."

(Quran, Surah Al-Baqarah 2:27)
